What is the purchase process?
After puppies are born, I accept deposits of 50% of the purchase price with the other 50% due upon delivery. Total cost for a pup is $2500.00 CAD, so the deposit would be $1250.00.
Do Coolies have any health issues?
On the net people say Coolies are free from health issues but that is incorrect. All dogs may have some health issues however it isn’t common for Coolies to have serious issues. Many health issues can be determined by the DNA testing which will happen with all these pups. Degenerative myelopathy, cataracts, cerebellum ataxia (no test as yet) can occur in many dogs and dog breeds. All we can do as breeders is choose the healthiest, most well-balanced, best structured dogs we can. I am very pleased with my dogs’ genetic results and am happy to share that information if you like.
What is your breeding cycle?
My girls have at least a year or two “off” between litters. I have two breeding females at home and two out with a trainer. I have two males. I only breed solid to Merle or solid to solid.
Are the puppies socialized?
This is a working farm as well as a doggie day-care/kennel facility. All my dogs and puppies are socialized daily with human visitors and, once old enough, canine companions. The puppies see many people of all ages basically from birth. They are raised in our farmhouse.
Can you ship a puppy?
Most people do pick up their puppy here at the farm but I have shipped pups all over the world. When you live overseas it’s easier to pop them on a plane.
What is the history of the breed?
Here is a link with some detailed background on this delightful breed.
What can I expect from a Coolie?
Each dog has its own personality however here are some traits you can look forward to. A Coolie is a dog that:
